About Greek
Greek is written in the Greek alphabet from left to right. Its 24 letters have capital and small forms, and the letter sigma has two small forms: σ inside a word and ς at the end. Modern Greek marks the stressed syllable of most words with an accent, the tonos (ά), and two dots (diaeresis, ϊ) show that two vowels are said separately.
